Translating stand-up is not about the words — it’s about making the joke land a second time, in a different language, for a different audience, with the same timing.

Thief of Joy is Gianmarco Soresi’s stand-up special, and this is its full Turkish dub. I managed the project from start to finish: coordinating the translation, voice recording and post-production, and keeping the team aligned on one goal — that a Turkish audience laughs in the same places an American one does.

Together with voice actor Onur Ünsal, I co-translated the special, adapting cultural references and wordplay so they would work in Turkish without losing Soresi’s rhythm and delivery.
